35th Annual Corn Roast

Aug 25th 2009 GLC member John Baker home at 2765 Bauer Rd Jenison near Grand Rapids MI. Another successful Corn Roast! LOTS of singing, camaraderie, and good grub! Holland even brought up about 20 guys who sang several songs.

The count was 63 voices! I'm afraid I don't have an official tally but I know some of the chapters represented included GR, Lansing, Kalamazoo, Muskegon, Holland, Santa Fe Springs, CA, including our snowbirders to Cape Coral FL.

A big thank you to the Baker family for hosting it again at their home and their large backyard plus all the picnic food and drink! Thanks to Lyle Weeks for some of the sweetest corn I've had all year and Jim Westveld for collecting admission.

Congrates to all the raffle winner including the grand prize cooler won by Chapter Prez Doug Weaver. Also Peter Westers looked very fetching with the gloves and manly music purse he won:) Sorry I don't know where all the prizes came from but I believe the Bakers provided the many Napa Auto Parts t-shirts, hats, etc.

We were already done eating and most of the way through the quartet performances when we had to move it indoors due to rain but there was plenty of room. After quartets were done singing we all sang tags until late.
